Assessment and treatment of malignant and benign tumours of the head and neck (nose/sinuses, mouth, throat, voice box and upper oesophagus), thyroid and salivary gland surgery, and skin cancer excision and reconstruction.
Laryngology
Disorders of the voice and swallowing problems. Able to perform detailed assessment of the vocal cords using stroboscopy – with the possibility of a joint/multi-practitioner speech therapist consultation if necessary.
General
Treatment and diagnosis for hearing loss, throat disorders, sinus problems, ear infections, perforated eardrums and tonsillitis.
Thyroid
Lumps
Assess and surgically treat thyroid lumps including cancers, enlarged thyroids and thyroid nodules.
Reconstructive
Surgery
Cosmetic and functional reconstructive surgery, in particular following skin cancer excision.
Pediatric
Otolaryngology
Assessment and treatment of ear infections, glue ear, tonsil and adenoid infections, nasal obstruction, snoring and sleep apnoea.

COMMONLY PERFORMED OTOLARYNGOLOGY PROCEDURES
Tonsillectomy
A surgical procedure to remove the tonsils.
Adenoidectomy
A surgical procedure performed to remove the adenoids.
Ventilation Tubes (Grommets)
A surgical procedure to insert a small tube into the eardrum.
Thyroidectomy
The surgical removal of all or part of the thyroid gland.
Salivary Gland Removal
The surgical removal or part removal of the parotid, submandibular or sublingual glands
Head and neck cancer resection
A surgical procedure to remove a cancer in the oral cavity, throat or neck.
Skin Cancer Removal
The surgical removal of skin cancers
Septoplasty
A surgical procedure to straighten a deviated septum.
Microlaryngoscopy
A surgical procedure performed under general anaesthetic using a laryngoscope that is placed through the mouth to examine the vocal folds in detail. This also allows access for procedures on the vocal cords such as a biopsy.
Myringoplasty
A surgical procedure to repair a hole in the eardrum.
